Stuffed Mushroom Recipe

Using the ADDIE learning theory, I developed a training video for an interactive module on cooking. I analyzed the potential audience, designed and developed the e-learning content based on the learning outcome, and implemented the video. The module aimed to reach a diverse range of learners who might need assistance reading a recipe. It guided them through the process of making stuffed mushrooms, a common appetizer in many restaurants. The module adopted a multimodal approach and emphasized universal design to ensure the accessibility of the video for all learners, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. The video featured an animated chef who read the text on the screen, explained the recipe, and narrated the quiz questions. The text also provided captions and transcripts for learners who were deaf or hard of hearing. The quiz questions assessed the learners’ comprehension and retention of the recipe and their culinary skills and knowledge. Thus, learners with different learning preferences could access the information in the way that suited them best and receive feedback on their performance.

To design the interactive module, I utilized Adobe Captivate, a software that enabled me to create responsive and immersive e-learning content. I edited the videos with Adobe Premiere, which offered advanced editing features and effects. I generated the voice and the animated chef with Adobe Character Animator, a software that allowed me to animate characters in real time. These powerful tools enhanced the quality and interactivity of my e-learning content. I also applied visual storytelling techniques such as stop motion and in-camera transitions to make the video more visually appealing and engaging for the learners. These techniques helped me to capture the learners’ attention and interest and to convey the information clearly and creatively.
