How To Make Vanilla-Scented Bath Bombs
This training video applied universal design learning principles to create an effective and engaging instructional video for do-it-yourself hobbyists and crafters. This e-learning was created to instruct hobbyists and crafters on the steps and procedures to make bath bombs. The universal design framework aims to provide multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression for diverse learners. Another instructional design method used in this project was the dual coding theory, which suggests combining verbal and visual information to enhance learning and memory. To apply this theory, the video used effective verbal and visual communication to present the content, such as narration, text, images, and animations. This project also employed the cognitive load theory, which states that learners cannot process information in their working memory when too much information is presented. To reduce cognitive load, the video ensured that the text was easy to read and explained the techniques and ingredients in detail. The video also segmented the instructions into manageable and understandable parts, emphasizing the need to follow each step sequentially.
Furthermore, the video made the content accessible to all viewers by providing on-screen graphics. The video aimed to create an engaging, compelling, and inclusive learning experience by applying these instructional design methods and universal design principles. The video enables hobbyists and crafters to successfully recreate bath bombs by following the instructions and applying the skills demonstrated in the video.
