Created in Adobe Audition - Music and Audio for Instructional Design

Adobe Audition Training

This training video is an educational resource that aims to teach employees and students of South Plains College how to use Adobe Audition to enhance and edit their recorded audio. The video is based on the Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation, a method of assessing the effectiveness of training and learning programs. The Kirkpatrick Model consists of four levels of criteria: reaction, learning, behavior, and results. The training video also applies a multimodal approach and universal design principles to address the diverse needs and preferences of the learners. The video consists of seven tutorials, each demonstrating a step-by-step process for resolving different audio problems, such as noise reduction, equalization, compression, and normalization. The video uses visual design principles to help control the viewer’s attention by adjusting the screen’s brightness and spotlighting certain areas for emphasis.

The video also ensures that the training module is easy to navigate by inserting slides between each tutorial and displaying an on-screen graphic throughout the tutorial so the learners can find the necessary sections. Moreover, the video pays attention to cognitive load by designing the tutorials to be short, concise, and relevant. The video eliminates any extra information that is deemed unnecessary. It avoids using additional music or too many on-screen graphics simultaneously to ensure the information is delivered to the learners without distraction. The video evaluates the learners’ reactions, learning, behavior, and results based on their participation in the training.

How this project was developed

For this training module, I employed Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere as the main tools for creating a captivating and engaging learning experience. Using both of these software applications, I produced a high-quality edit that stimulated the learners’ interest in the subject matter. I also used Adobe Premiere to highlight the critical elements within Adobe Audition.
